Sept 6 - One quilt by Gina.

Another quilt finished, again using cotton sheets and brushed cotton for the backing.

August 15 - Two more quilts from Gina.

This little stack of quilts includes the one I posted a pic of earlier this month.  There is another one like it, and a green one.  I've got two more tops pieced and ready to be made up.

August 8 - One quilt from Gina.

This is long overdue!  I have a huge stash of fabric to use just for baby quilts, but as always, finding the time to make them is the most difficult part.  This one is made using cotton sheets from an opshop, cut into strips which are sewn together then recut to form four patch blocks.  I've used some nice thick wadding found in an opshop, to fill it, and brushed cotton for the back.

June 24 - 4 quilts from the USA

A large box arrived today from Kelli in California.  She sent four quilts made from blocks that she found in her grandmother's belongings after she passed away.  Kelli says she saved every scrap and is happy that they have found a good use.  I have also photographed the postage label showing how much it cost Kelli to post these four quilts to me - how generous to spend that amount of money to post these four quilts!   Thank you very much Kelli - I know Yaso will greatly appreciate your kindness.

17th June - HUGE donation of quilts!

Above are photos of each individual quilt that Margaret in Mount Eliza (Vic) and one of her friends have been busy making  for our PNG babies.
She and her hubby very kindly brought them here, as they were en route to Healesville, not quite on the way, so it was very good of them to come here first.   Here is a photo of the bags they brought into the kitchen, to give you some idea of the number of quilts. Many heartfelt thanks to Margaret and her friend for such a generous donation of time and materials!

May 9th. Two quilts.

One of the quilt donors last year was a lady who lives in country Victoria, and comes to Melbourne to visit her daughter who lives not far from me.  I received an email from Jane a few weeks ago telling me she had make some more quilts, and today we met up and she gave them to me.   Thanks again Jane - these are lovely.   I'm just sorry my photo doesn't do them justice, but the PNG babies will love them :-)

1st May - another package of quilts

Another large Aust. Post satchel arrived today.  I've been out and about today and haven't even opened this one.  I have just had a look at the sender's name (at 11.45 pm) and it is from Lorraine Squires and her ladies in NSW - the same group who sent the 12 that arrived yesterday!
Looks like some serious photography sessions coming up this weekend...thanks girls!
